- I have increasing pain from my thigh down my right leg. What could be causing this terrible pain so bad now that I cannot wear my belts or tight clothing? The pain is getting progressively worse and is now a 7 on a 10 scale. It gets worse during the day to the point that I cannot work. Who can I see? Do you think I can ever work a full day again? - l.w.
- This type of pain is often due to a specific nerve abnormality that is rarely recognized. One examination and one injection of a specially located nerve can often make the diagnosis and result in immediate relief. The relief may be short lived but a regular schedule of repeated treatments may well restore you back to your normal state or near your normal state again.
- I have pain every time I have intercourse. This started one year ago and is now so bad I cannot have sex at all. Who could I see about this pain? What kind of problem could I have that would be so bad to cause me such pain of 10 on a 10 scale pain wise? - k.e.
- This type of pain could be caused by several different problems. It could be located just at the opening of your vagina or deeper in the vagina itself. It could be caused by nerves that go to this area also. You could start your road to recovery by seeing your local ob/gyn doctor who may be able to determine what your problem is or, if not, refer you to a doctor who specialized in pelvic pain such as myself. We have special instruments and training in this area that could determine what the cause of the pain is.
- I have pain in my groin area that has been getting worse since my surgery for an ovarian cyst last year. It is so bad now that I cannot even carry my purse or do my exercises at my gym three times per week as I have been doing for the last three years. Who should I see about this pain? What could I have that is getting constantly worse month by month? - d.d.
- You type of pain could also be caused by several different problems. It could be another problem located within your abdomen such as another cyst or it could be caused by a damaged nerve that could not be seen during your previous operation. Your best bet would to see some type of pain doctor who can use different diagnostic tests and nerve blocks to discover if a damaged nerve is indeed involved. This is not uncommon and y ou should have hope that you will receive help from a workup and diagnosis or your problem. Sometimes such treatments will be able to return you to your normal state of health so that you can exercise again so do not despair.
- I have pain of a burning nature every time I empty my bladder. Is that normal? Should I see a doctor or just bear the pain? It has worsened over past 3 years and is now a 5-6 on a 10 pain scale. I have it 5-6 times per day and it seems to be getting worse now. What kind of doctor should I see? - d.k.
- Burning pain is typical of what we call ?nerve pain?. Thus it could be caused by a nerve or group of nerves that have been damaged somehow. It is not normal so you should see a doctor about your problem. Such a bladder type pain could be from the bladder itself or could be from nerves that are near the bladder. You need to find one of several doctors that could help you get started with a medical exam that can identify what the basis for the pain is. Then you can be given medications or treatments that can help alleviate your pain. You should not despair because most patients with such pain can eventually be helped with some treatment methods we currently have available. We should be able to reduce the pain to a more acceptable level of 2-3 on a 10 scale hopefully.
- I have sitting pain that used to be just a nuisance, but now it is so bad I cannot sit for even 5 minutes. What could be causing such a bad pain? I have seen several doctors but none of them know what to do for me? Who could I see? Do you think I can ever sit again? - t.j.
- Sitting pain is a very complex problem and often doctors are not trained to handle this problem. It is often due to damage in one or two nerve complexes located in and around where you sit anatomically. This is one of the pain problems I have been able to help with in the past few years due to special diagnostic methods and specialized treatment methods. You could start to seek medical advice from your local doctor in your area and tell him about referral to specialized ?pain doctors? who could help you hopefully.
